Bathrooms Built for Granada Hills Homes

Granada Hills grew quickly in the 1950s and 1960s, and much of the housing reflects it. Knollwood and the streets around O’Melveny Park are full of single-story ranch homes, while Granada Hills North has larger lots and some older Valley homes. Balboa Highlands stands out for its mid-century Eichler homes, with walls of glass and clean, open lines.

Most of these homes are now 60 years old or more. A well-planned bathroom remodeling Granada Hills project replaces aging galvanized pipes, adds GFCI outlets and a properly ducted fan, and installs a full waterproofing system before any finishes go in. In Eichlers, we also design around radiant floor heating and post-and-beam construction, so the new bathroom fits the original architecture.

Popular Bathroom Upgrades in Granada Hills

These are the bathroom remodeling Granada Hills requests we hear most often from local families:

Walk-in showers: replacing old tub-shower combos with open, easy-access showers.
Mid-century style: flat-panel vanities, simple tile and warm wood for Eichler homes.
Family-friendly baths: durable tile, double sinks and plenty of storage.
Aging-in-place: grab bars, benches and slip-resistant floors.
Classic ranch looks: farmhouse and traditional styles with modern plumbing.
Better lighting: bright vanity lights and soft, layered ambient light.

Permits and Codes in Granada Hills

Granada Hills is part of the City of Los Angeles, so permits come through the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS). Most bathroom remodeling Granada Hills projects that move plumbing, change electrical or alter walls need one.

Balboa Highlands is also a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, so changes that affect the outside of the home, like new windows or vents, may need extra review. We prepare the plans, handle the paperwork and schedule every inspection for you.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have done two major home renovations with Nathan and his team over the last few years. They are great to work with: very professional and responsive, so when we wanted to remodel our kitchen, we trusted them with the project. They completed the work quicker than the estimated time frame and within budget. We could not be happier with the outcome and we're already planning future projects with his team. We strongly recommend KN Remodeling for any home projects you may have!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. KN Remodeling did a fantastic job on a complete remodel of our kitchen-from planning to completion, the job was seamless, on time and budget, and we are delighted with the results. Nathan had very helpful suggestions and an aesthetic eye for detail. His crew was professional, reliable, meticulous in their work, and a pleasure to have around. The entire team was courteous and very respectful of our living area and left our space tidy at the end of each work day. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them to family and friends. We feel lucky to have found them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We took A LOT of quotes on our kitchen refresh, and Nathan was the only one who wasn't pushy or threw out high-pressure sales pitches.

He listened to our concerns and approached them realistically and offered options that were doable, and not empty promises.

His work teams were very professional, worked diligently, and were never rude. They took as much care of our house as we would. Even when we pointed out certain imperfections and mistakes they were quick to fix and patch up. Our kitchen was done way sooner than we had anticipated, so that's always a plus.

One of the things I really liked about Nathan was that he was always a phone call away and he was very attentive to our concerns. He never dismissed us or ignored us. He cared and he never let us down. We've had experiences with other companies that have been less than favorable, and what we disliked the most was being ignored when we noticed imperfections in their work.

Even today, as the kitchen is finished and Nathan came over to do final checks, we noticed our drawer hardware was rusty (it was a refresh and not a remodel), and Nathan offered to send someone over to install new ones free of charge.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this company, and especially Nathan, who I found to be an honorable contractor.

Highly recommend.
