Bathrooms Built for Thousand Oaks Homes

Thousand Oaks grew up around the 101 in the 1960s and 1970s, and neighborhoods like Lynn Ranch, Conejo Oaks and much of Newbury Park are filled with tract homes from that era. Newer communities such as Dos Vientos were built from the 1990s onward, usually with larger primary baths and an active HOA.

Older homes often have small hall baths, original tub-shower combos and plumbing near the end of its life. A good bathroom remodeling Thousand Oaks plan updates the supply lines and wiring, adds a properly ducted fan and installs full waterproofing before any tile goes up. In newer homes, the focus is usually on refreshing builder-grade finishes and making the primary bath feel like a retreat.

Popular Bathroom Upgrades in Thousand Oaks

These are the bathroom remodeling Thousand Oaks requests we hear most often:

Builder-grade makeovers: replacing basic finishes with stone, custom vanities and better lighting.
Walk-in showers: frameless glass, benches and curbless entries.
Spa primary suites: soaking tubs, steam showers and heated floors.
Aging-in-place: grab bars, wider entries and slip-resistant floors.
Warm, natural design: wood tones, earthy tile and calm palettes.
Water-wise fixtures: efficient toilets, faucets and showerheads.

Permits, Codes and HOAs in Thousand Oaks

Thousand Oaks is its own city in Ventura County, so permits come from the City of Thousand Oaks Building Division rather than LADBS. Most bathroom remodeling Thousand Oaks projects that move plumbing, change electrical or alter walls need one.

Many neighborhoods also have an HOA with rules on work hours, exterior changes and contractor access. Read our guide on what your HOA may require first. We prepare the plans, gather HOA approvals and schedule every inspection for you.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have done two major home renovations with Nathan and his team over the last few years. They are great to work with: very professional and responsive, so when we wanted to remodel our kitchen, we trusted them with the project. They completed the work quicker than the estimated time frame and within budget. We could not be happier with the outcome and we're already planning future projects with his team. We strongly recommend KN Remodeling for any home projects you may have!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. KN Remodeling did a fantastic job on a complete remodel of our kitchen-from planning to completion, the job was seamless, on time and budget, and we are delighted with the results. Nathan had very helpful suggestions and an aesthetic eye for detail. His crew was professional, reliable, meticulous in their work, and a pleasure to have around. The entire team was courteous and very respectful of our living area and left our space tidy at the end of each work day. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them to family and friends. We feel lucky to have found them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We took A LOT of quotes on our kitchen refresh, and Nathan was the only one who wasn't pushy or threw out high-pressure sales pitches.

He listened to our concerns and approached them realistically and offered options that were doable, and not empty promises.

His work teams were very professional, worked diligently, and were never rude. They took as much care of our house as we would. Even when we pointed out certain imperfections and mistakes they were quick to fix and patch up. Our kitchen was done way sooner than we had anticipated, so that's always a plus.

One of the things I really liked about Nathan was that he was always a phone call away and he was very attentive to our concerns. He never dismissed us or ignored us. He cared and he never let us down. We've had experiences with other companies that have been less than favorable, and what we disliked the most was being ignored when we noticed imperfections in their work.

Even today, as the kitchen is finished and Nathan came over to do final checks, we noticed our drawer hardware was rusty (it was a refresh and not a remodel), and Nathan offered to send someone over to install new ones free of charge.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this company, and especially Nathan, who I found to be an honorable contractor.

Highly recommend.
